There was this one FreeBSD guy, who went by the nick nephrozym.
He rewrote the whole soundcard support for FreeBSD and salvaged me and countless other music lovers who happened to use FreeBSD as the primary desktop OS.
And I just found out that he passed away last Wednesday.
Little did I know that he suffered from rare neurological diseases.
Or that he has been paralyzed from neck and below since he was a college kid.
Or that he couldn't even speak because of the tracheostomy tube that his diseases forced him to use.
Or that he could only move fingers so he can barely use a small on-screen keyboard.
Or that he nevertheless graduated college, and has been an active and major contributor to open-source projects like FreeBSD.
Cameron Grant, rest in peace. You were one of my biggest FreeBSD heroes.
