When you talk to me and other people, IRL or online, about some topic and I give you guys a baffled, I-don't-know-whatchall-talkin'bout kind of look, and it occurs to you that the topic you were talking about was probably new to me (because I'm a semi-FOB like that XD):
Please do not feel sorry for baffling me, and even more importantly...
Please do not steer away from the topic.
I'm like a sponge. Value judgements aside, I want to be exposed to as many topics and subjects `foreign' to me as possible, and learn about them. Much like a kid. I'm actually a grown-up kid in that sense. A 29-year-old, bilingual, intelligent, geeky `kid.' :D Oh, actually... I'm different from ordinary kids. Little kids don't have ability to balance their own opinion independently without external help, so adults have to be careful about what to show them. (Parental advisory, anyone? XD) This is not the case for me. I'm already nearly 30 years old, so you don't have to worry as much about the possibility you'll spoil my worldview much by what you `show me.' :p
Yes. That's all. Please help Eugene the Korean feel more at home in this country. I will greatly appreciate your help.
P.S. My greed wants me to say this one thing too: I might, at times, come off as overly curious about stupid things you take as granted (because they're part of your everyday life). If I do, please be patient with me. I might be learning for the first time in my life the same stupid thing you take as granted. ^^
